On March 17, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission and the State Administration for Market Regulation jointly held a symposium for enterprises in the new‑energy vehicle industry to arrange key tasks including further regulating the competition order of the new‑energy vehicle industry, enhancing industrial innovation capacity, expanding automobile consumption and optimizing industry administration. Xin Guobin, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

The meeting required thorough implementation of the important instructions and directives from General Secretary Xi Jinping on the development of the new‑energy vehicle industry, as well as the arrangements set forth in the Outline of the 15th Five‑Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development and the 2026 Government Work Report. Efforts shall be made to strengthen inter‑departmental coordination, boost innovation‑driven growth and consistently advance high‑quality industrial development. First, consolidate and deepen achievements in regulating industrial competition order, strengthen price monitoring and cost investigation, study policies to standardize auto finance, carry out regular and long‑term rectification of online irregularities in the industry, and urge enterprises to strictly honor the 60‑day payment‑term commitment. Second, implement a new‑round initiative for high‑quality development of key industrial chains, accelerate the tackling of bottlenecks in automotive chips and basic software, promote larger‑scale application and achieve iterative improvement in quality and performance; speed up key‑technology breakthroughs for autonomous driving, optimize access pilot procedures and accelerate the formulation of relevant standards to create favorable conditions for large‑scale mass production. Third, fully implement special initiatives to boost consumption, solidly push forward the trade‑in program for automobiles, promote large‑scale application of new‑energy heavy‑duty trucks, compile and issue policy documents for sound development of the automobile modification market, and fully unlock market consumption potential; improve financial and credit services, reinforce international logistics support, and support automobile export trade and overseas business expansion. Fourth, improve the institutional system, advance the legislative process for the Regulations on the Administration of Motor Vehicle Production Access, and establish a sound open, scientific and efficient governance system for the automobile industry; strengthen identification of risks and hidden dangers, enforce strict product access thresholds, enhance supervision and inspection over production consistency, and firmly uphold the bottom line of product quality and safety.

Responsible officials from relevant departments of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission and the State Administration for Market Regulation, the Equipment Industry Development Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, and 17 key automobile enterprises attended the meeting.
