For Zhejiang Founder Motor Co., Ltd., the Engineering Department is exactly such a team. Our company sets the strategic goal of becoming an excellent core component supplier in the energy‑saving and new‑energy vehicle sector. We strive to upgrade our technologies, products and customer base, build capabilities and technical expertise to serve high‑quality global clients, and aim to capture market share through patents and standards in the future, with the mission of driving the world forward. The Engineering Department exists precisely for this mission.

The Engineering Department consists of process, electrical, equipment maintenance and other teams. Each team fulfills its own responsibilities while cooperating closely to deliver corporate objectives. When the COVID‑19 pandemic broke out in early 2020, the department adopted a hybrid working model combining home‑office and on‑site work to carry out equipment maintenance and commissioning, ensuring the company’s safe resumption of production. Thanks to joint efforts, the output of E50 motors exceeded 100,000 units in 2020. In 2021, the company achieved production and sales of 450,000 drive motors, and the figure nearly doubled in 2022. Behind these remarkable statistics are equipment maintenance technicians working double shifts to keep production‑line equipment running reliably, as well as engineers busy installing and commissioning continuously introduced new production lines across workshops. Output growth cannot be attributed solely to the Engineering Department, yet it would not have been achieved without our hard‑won efforts. Below are brief profiles of several team members as representatives to help you better understand the Engineering Department.


Process Engineer: Shu Haisong
Since joining the company in 2015, Shu Haisong has served as a process engineer, participating in process development for various projects. By learning Industrial Engineering (IE) knowledge and combining it with on‑site practice, he has optimized manufacturing workflows. Working with colleagues across departments, he analyzes production‑line quality issues, digs into potential risks in manufacturing processes, optimizes process tooling, and prevents defect occurrences.

Over recent years, the company has launched multiple rounds of efficiency improvement initiatives, in which he delivered outstanding performance. Starting from September 2020, corporate orders surged sharply. To guarantee stable workshop capacity, he voluntarily worked overtime every day to resolve emergent production‑line problems in a timely manner. To further boost output, he frequently discussed with maintenance technicians how to perfect the E50 stator automatic production line. Addressing repeated circulation issues during forming operations, he rearranged working procedures, utilized idle equipment and adjusted line layout to cut waiting waste. Noticing excessive walking by coil‑insertion operators caused by excessive separation between hanging‑wire and coil‑insertion stations, he reconfigured layouts so operators could pick up materials by simply turning around and reduce motion waste. Meanwhile, he carried out optimizations by analyzing operator motions, operation sequences and equipment capacity. While guaranteeing product quality, he improved cycle efficiency by 10‑20 seconds, ultimately lifting the automatic‑line efficiency by over 40%.
Electrical Engineer: Ma Jianhao

Shortly after joining the company, Ma Jianhao mastered electrical expertise and became familiar with drive‑motor manufacturing workflows. He reflected on how to align key product characteristics with assembly procedures. After getting well‑acquainted with control points of various equipment circuits and sensors, he retrofitted and upgraded faulty control sensors and out‑of‑stock legacy electrical components to sustain normal production. During periods of manpower shortage for electrical positions within the Engineering Department, he independently troubleshooted diverse electrical failures and proposed improvement solutions. Endowed with strong responsibility and enthusiasm for work, he responds promptly to equipment breakdowns and minimizes production losses caused by line stoppages.
Equipment Maintenance Technician: Sun Zhongyi
Sun Zhongyi has long explored equipment mechanical operations. Whenever spare time is available, he studies approaches to enhance equipment performance, proactively prevents unexpected shutdowns, and puts forward rational improvement suggestions. For instance, high staff turnover and high skill requirements for coil‑insertion equipment bring considerable downtime and spare‑part consumption once failures occur. Targeting these pain points, he proactively analyzed countermeasures and finally resolved the problem by implementing mistake‑proofing mechanisms. His other rational proposals include adding copper rings to thermal‑wire assembly processes to shorten operation time, removing equipment bars for maintenance during staff breaks to reduce motor withstand‑voltage failures, and adding circumferential mistake‑proofing features for coil‑insertion tooling to avoid operator mis‑operations.
